Testimonials

“I attended Jennie’s talk with our Children and Families team, and it was one of the most powerful sessions I’ve ever been part of. She spoke with such honesty and courage about mental health and the lasting impact of abuse, but also about hope, resilience, and the possibility of healing.
What stood out was how she connected with every single person in the room not just as professionals, but as people. She made us reflect deeply on the way we listen, the words we choose, and the assumptions we sometimes make without realising it.
Her ability to weave real-life experience with practical insight has already changed the way I approach my work. I left feeling challenged, moved, and better equipped to support the families I work with. This wasn’t just another training session it was a wake-up call and an inspiration.”

“Roger, when I was younger, I absolutely loved art. But after the trauma of being bullied in secondary school, I lost my way. I didn’t pick up a pencil or paintbrush for nearly ten years.
Then I found Jennie’s art group. From the moment I walked in, it felt different calm, welcoming, safe. Jennie has this way of seeing everyone, really seeing them, and making you feel valued just as you are.
One afternoon, I was sitting at the table watching Jennie and a couple of ladies making a lampshade out of glue and string. They were laughing, and the joy was contagious. I started doodling without thinking about it, and when I looked down, I’d drawn a bird. That little bird was the moment my love for creating came back to life.
Because of the acceptance and encouragement I found in that group, I started saying yes to things I never imagined. In 2021, I ran a half marathon. I even travelled to America as a representative for a charity for young people"

"Jennie,
on behalf of all of us at Brixton Station, I want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your truly remarkable talk. Your passionate, honest, funny, and deeply moving account left a profound impact on everyone in the room.
Jennie, you had officers in tears of laughter, emotion, and admiration. Your ability to share your life’s story with such authenticity and courage taught us lessons we will carry with us, both in our professional roles and personal lives.
You are an extraordinary individual, and your words resonated deeply with every single person present. I can honestly say that we all left the event with a greater understanding, immense respect, and a renewed sense of purpose thanks to you.
Thank you for educating us, inspiring us, and reminding us of the power of empathy and humanity. From all of us at Brixton Station, we salute you. You are truly a remarkable lady.
With the utmost respect and gratitude,"
